Favorite Kitchen Tools - Miniature Spatula

What is it about miniature things? They are cute, fun, and often more functional than their larger counter parts. My best friend adores miniature tools. A few years ago I gave her a small bamboo spork and she still treasures it today. She keeps it in her purse for those moments when she needs an eating utensil on the fly. My great uncle even wants a miniature donkey... No seriously, but that is another story for another day.

I recently bought a miniature spatula and it has quickly become the workhorse of my kitchen and my new favorite tool. It is fantastic for getting any sauce out of a jar, scraping down the bowl of a mini-prep food processor, or scraping left overs into Tupperware. I first saw them used on Food Network by Giada De Laurentiis and I thought it looked like a silly tool. Now that I have one I see why they are so great. I highly recommend one and they make great stocking stuffers for the holidays.

  2. I will have to try one. I love my mini grater, it works for spices and aged cheese. But my favorite kitchen is still a bamboo straight edge stirring tool. It is excellent for stir fry, sauces, rice and turning sautes. Keep writing, I so enjoy a good read about food. Best, Cheryl of the clan Baker
